the 7-day prayer plan

Over the next 7 days we will unite together through prayer. Pray individually and with your family when you can. Prayer allows us to humble ourselves to see God at work and positions God as a priority in our lives.

As a part of the plan each day try to include a time of praise- inviting God to the prayer time, repentance- asking for forgiveness from areas of shortcoming and acknowledgement- of the power and ability of God. Take special attention to have moments of quiet to listen and reflect on what God is saying in response to your prayer time.
If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
— 2 Chronicles 7:14

Pray that you, individually, and City Place Church, corporately, will fulfill the Lord's work with boldness and with God’s vision, not our own. Pray over the next 7 days- that you would connect with the Spirit of God in a new way; pray for His vision this week. We also pray for opportunities to build dreams, ignite faith, and establish leaders that win the lost for the kingdom of Christ. Most importantly, we pray that he will teach us when our dreams are not big enough.

For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” declares the LORD.“For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways And My thoughts than your thoughts.
— Isaiah 55:8-9

DAY 2: our church

Begin today by praying for City Place Church, the Pastors, leaders, dream team, and ministries. We are praying for continued favor and influence with our host school, favor in the community, strength and growth in the individuals and families that attend and give each Sunday, healthy relationships, and the Presence of God in the services we lead.  We already have a great team of people whom God has called to help us. We are still believing for even more that will soon make City Place Church home and who have a heart to serve on the dream team.

The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. We ask you Lord of the harvest to send laborers into your harvest.
— Luke 10:2

We remember what our lives were like without Christ, and the hope that came as a result of accepting and living for Him. Begin by listing family, friends, and others that do not know Jesus. Ask God to give you a righteous burden for people that do not have an overwhelming, fruitful relationship with Jesus. Pray that their hearts would be soft to receive the Gospel message. We pray that our hearts would break for what breaks God’s heart, and that we would be the catalyst that moves people into a real relationship with a living, loving Savior.

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, for he has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see, that the oppressed will be set free, and that the time of the Lord’s favor has come.
— Luke 4:18-19

We pray that we would lead deeper, more fruitful spiritual lives where we are constantly growing deeper in our relationship with Him. As we draw away from the crowd, we pray for a spiritual hunger to hear the voice of God, honor Him through our giving, and respond to His will for our lives. We pray for faithfulness in knowing His Word, joining in fellowship with other believers, and reaching the lost.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.
— Matthew 5:6

day 5: our nation & world

We are praying that God would bless the nations with Godly leadership and authority for those whose hearts are aligned to His will. We pray for all of those with authority to rule and protect- the President, elected officials, law enforcement, judges, the military- and for God's plan in the upcoming election. We pray for revival in America, that our hearts would return to Jesus once again and that our nations would demonstrate the peace and love of Jesus.

I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour.
— 1 Timothy 2:1-2

day 6: freedom

We are praying for freedom from emotional, physical, sexual, and relational areas that do not please the Lord. We identify and release any habits that have separated us from the best life in Christ and ask forgiveness from you, from others, and from ourselves. We pray for fresh freedom in the areas of debt, relationships, ministry, and accept the ability to live in our full potential because of your freedom.

The Spirit of the Lord is on Me, because He has anointed Me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent Me to proclaim deliverance to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to release the oppressed
— Luke 4:18

Begin by making a list of your own needs in the areas of health, finances, spiritual growth, relationships, wisdom, and family concerns. Pray that God's will be fulfilled in these areas and search for Scriptures that align with your needs. Finally, pray for renewed and increased faith, believing that God will meet our needs according to His will.

And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words. And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God’s own will.
— Romans 8:26-27

As you conclude your 7 days of corporate, we encourage you to make prayer a part of your everyday life. Use this guide to continue to pray for the nation, City Place Church, our community, our spiritual growth, and our own needs.
